Course Fees: £300 per person – plus materials; approx £70. A non-refundable deposit of £70 secures a place and is payable when booking (can be used against a later course). The balance is payable six weeks before the course starts. Obviously I will return the deposit and other monies paid in the unlikely event that I have to cancel a course before it begins.

The three and a half day course is for beginners or those with some experience. It will give an insight into the design and making of stained glass windows and you will create your own panel in coloured glass and lead in a stimulating and enjoyable atmosphere. Beginning with a variety of source materials, you will develop your own design idea. The workshop will include a slide show and demonstrations. Materials can be purchased from me – cost, very approximately £70 per person. All tools will be provided, as well as tea, coffee and biscuits. You should bring a packed lunch.

Brilley Village Hall provides an ideal setting for the course, being light and spacious and with good parking. The small number of participants (no more than 9) means that there is plenty of space and time for individual tuition. Good bed and breakfast accommodation is available nearby. The area is renowned for its spectacular countryside and Hay on Wye, the “Town of Books” is a few minutes drive away.

I am an experienced stained glass artist and tutor, and have designed and made windows for churches, other public buildings and houses across the country in a contemporary, organic style. In addition to several years’ regular teaching at the School of Art and Design, Queen’s Road, Bristol and Herefordshire College of Art, I have run many lively and intensive short courses. Recent commissions include windows for The African Natural History Research Trust and for St Mary’s Church, Newent, Glos. I have also completed new works for St Luke and St Andrew’s Church, Priston, Nr Bath; for St Matthew’s Church, Frome’s Hill, Herefordshire; St Catherine’s Church, Pontypridd and St Mary’s Church, Burghill, Herefordshire.
